Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of 2023.

Success also indicates he has achieved 21 championships at 21 different competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was concluded.

But the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, supported by an improved serving game.

He came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to create a third set.

He saved 4 early chances in a close deciding set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
